This is
another department manned by Agricultural Engineers,
Irrigation Engineers, Water Engineers, Agronomists
and Agribusiness specialists.
It plays key role in combining the initial and last
stages of any Irrigation project.
These specialists study the suitability of any
project in regard to the soils, acreage, water,
crops and economic viability and advice clients
accordingly.
In this, they work in tandem with the Design
department to come up with the estimated cost of the
project, bill of quantities, quality of materials,
Irrigation water needs, Crop water requirements,
Irrigation scheduling and programming in addition to
soil erosion control and conservation methods, crop
rotation and soil fertility maintenance.This
department trains the personnel from the managers to
the farmers on all aspects of Irrigation equipment
maintenance, Irrigation scheduling and operation,
soil moisture content maintenance and the essence of
crop rotation. This kind of training is very
essential to ensure that project beneficiaries own
up the project, learn and muster how to operate and
maintain the same project and can at the same time
adopt a business view and profit perspective to the
projects. |
